St Thomas Jacobite church, Portsmouth is one of the parishes of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church's (MSOC) Patriarchal vicariate in the UK. It was officially declared as a parish church of the MSOC on 25th January 2004 by H G Dr. Kuriakose Mor Theophilose Metropolitan, who was the patriarchal vicar for the region then. Since then this parish has become the focal point of Syrian Orthodox Christian community in south coast of England. It has got 50 families as the registered parish members and around another 15 families who actively participate in the Liturgy and other activities of this parish. Rev.Fr Eldhose Koungumpillil was the first Vicar of this parish.
